Passion

What does passion look like in the yarn world. First there is the collection of yarn. This week our collection at The Twisted Purl expanded. Merino Yak, Alpaca Fingering, Cashmere, Merino silk, and Wool Alpaca. It is from this amazing new collection that sweater, hat, shawl, vest, cowl patterns arise. We imagine the yarn slipping through our fingers stitch by stitch and creating the next personal masterpiece. We might imagine the person that we want to knit for. A new baby, a son, grandson or husband. We find just the right colour and take measurements. We begin.

This passion is played out over and over at the Twisted Purl. Sometimes there are several projects on the needles. And then you think maybe I should crochet that stuffed toy I just saw in a magazine. It is constant focused distraction by beautiful yarn, possibilities and design. The quiet moments in a chair as we figure out the decreases on a sweater arm. The learning a new cast on for the top of a sock, exploring the angle of SSK and K2together, trying the magic loop for your next pair of socks are all part of exploring techniques within passion.

Passion nourishes, and enhances the human experience. When shared in community it changes the world. Here at the Twisted Purl we invite you share our passion. In September come and Learn to Knit with Lisa, Knit a sweater with Bernice, Explore Fair Isle knitting during Shetland Wool Week, book a private lesson with Linda, Monday and Tuesdays and know that when you explore a passion for yarn with us you enter into good company

Here’s to a passionate fall.
